Essentially my art practice is social critique. But, my work is informed by other things as well. Things that often tie into social critique, e.g. ennui, abuse, alienation, exploitation, misuse of power etc. I am very interested in using humor in my art, since I feel that living in desperate times demands humor as antidote. Since so much contemporary art is so dreadfully "serious" I guess that makes me a bit of a contrarian. However, addressing serious subjects in a non-didactic, satiric (and/or humorous) way with an object that moves is no easy trick. My mode of expression is most often (though not always) through kinetic sculptures - objects in motion have always intrigued me since I was a little child. My practice continues to explore where we are and where we are going.
